Orange Level maths mastery facts are introduced in Year 2. Ideally, most students will master these facts within the year. However, provision is made for them to continue to work on them throughout the following years.
Badges include:
Forwards 1000 Count forwards by 1s from any number up to 1000
Backwards 1000 Count backwards by 1s from any number up to 1000
Count by 2s Count forwards and backwards by 2s to and from 100
Count by 3s Count forwards and backwards by 3s to and from 100
Count by 5s Count forwards and backwards by 5s to and from 100
Count by 10s Count forwards and backwards by 10s off the decade to and from 500 (E.g. 13, 23, 33...)
Rounding to 10 Round numbers between 1 and 100 to the nearest 10
Rounding to 100 Round numbers between 1 and 1000 to the nearest 100
Doubles Double any single-digit number
Double the tens Double any 2 digit number ending in zero
Notes Identify and order Australian coins and notes
Eighths Divide an object or collection of objects into eighths
Fact Families Identify all addition and subtraction combinations of numbers up to 20. (3 + 17 = 20 and 20 - 3 = 17)
cm - m Identify the number of cm in a m
Analog Quarter Time Read analog clocks on the quarter hour
Digital Quarter Time Read digital clocks on the quarter hour
Turning Rotate an object or picture a half turn, quarter turn and full turn
3D Objects Use the terms 'flat surface', 'curved surface', 'face', 'edge' and 'vertex' to describe three-dimensional objects.
