Catching public transport
Public transport is a great way for students to safely and reliably get to and from school every day. Catching the bus offers several options, including dedicated school buses that pick up and drop off students at designated stops, public buses that service routes near schools, and express buses for quicker travel. These options help ensure students arrive at school on time and ready to learn.

Driving and parking
The start and end of the school day are busy times for both pedestrians and drivers outside schools. As a parent or carer, it’s your responsibility to ensure your child’s safety when travelling to and from school. Student safety is our top priority.
When driving and parking near the school, please remember to:
- Park safely within school zones
- Follow all speed signs
- Avoid making U-turns or three-point turns outside the school
To keep our school community safe, we encourage you to:
- Drive and park safely, even if it means parking further away and walking the rest of the way
- Be a good role model for your children
- Never call your child from across the road
- Use the safest designated places to cross the road
For parents and carers of younger children, especially those just starting school, it’s important to discuss and practise safe behaviours for:
- Walking to and from school
- Being in the car
- Waiting for, travelling on, and getting off the bus
- Riding bikes, scooters, and skateboards
Discuss safe travel routes, plans for unexpected situations, and what to do in wet weather with your child. Together, we can help create a safer journey for all our students.
