Write a book in a day.

Last week two groups of Stage 3 students participated in 'Write a Book in a Day', a 12 hour writing challenge where teams need to write and illustrate a book from start to finish.  To make it even more fun, unique parameters must be included in the story.  Completed books are donated to children in hospitals across Australia.  The students also have to fundraise to be included in the competition.  Funds raised through sponsorship go to The Kids' Cancer Project, a national charity with a mission to support scientific research to help children with cancer.

The Creative Critters (Maddy, Jake, Thomas D, Hamish, Grace and Emily) wrote and illustrated a book titled Saving Sunset.  Destination Imagination (Saskia B, Saskia R, Bethany, Hannah, Zara, Lily and Ally) wrote Trick or Treat.  It can be a challenge to plan, write and illustrate a book as a team and the students collaborated well, completing the 12 hour task to a high standard with minutes to spare.
