Recently I was extremely lucky as I spent the week in an outdoor classroom in Newcastle. My classroom for the week was a tennis court! It was one of the best weeks ever of my primary education.
I was representing our school, Castle Cove, and was part of the Sydney North Team competing at the NSW State PSSA Tennis championships. There were 165 children, made up of 13 boys' teams and 13 girls' teams, competing from all different regions across NSW.
After four long days of competing, our team was undefeated and we had earnt a spot in the final. In the final we played against MacKillop. The MacKillop team was made up of the best tennis players in NSW from all the Catholic schools. It was a great match and a very close one! Our team, Sydney North, won the final and we were named NSW State championships for 2017. Our Sydney North Girls team also made it to the final. They were defeated by Sydney East in a close match. Sydney North therefore also won the overall point score combined for girls' and boys' teams.
It was the most amazing experience - I learnt so much from my team and our awesome team manager. I also made so many great friendships over the week.
I would like to thank all of you who supported me by buying a raffle ticket to help me participate in this fantastic event. It is an experience I will remember for a long time.
