Farmers in rural Australia are struggling to cope with the record dry conditions. As costs spiral and conditions worsen, even putting food on the table is becoming too hard for some families.
Castle Cove Public School is coming together to help our Australian farmers struggling to cope with these devastating conditions.
On Thursday 27th September, we are asking all students to dress up as a farmer and bring in $5 to help raise funds for ‘A fiver for a Farmer’. Wear an Akubra hat, a flannelette shirt, a pair of jeans or boots. Keep it simple!
Students are encouraged to participate in extra chores around the house to earn their $5.
On the same day, staff members will be hosting a lunch (sausage sandwich) for students outside the school hall, where all proceeds will go to the ‘Drought Angels’. A sausage sandwich will cost $3 per student and will need to be pre-ordered by Friday 21st September.
