Wellbeing
At our school, we believe that student wellbeing and learning are deeply connected. We strive to create a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels supported and ready to engage. Whether your child needs assistance with their mental, emotional, social, or physical wellbeing, we are dedicated to helping them flourish both at school and in everyday life.
Our school follow the principles of the URSTRONG program, a well-established, skills-based approach designed to help children build strong friendship skills using child-friendly concepts and language. By embedding this shared language of friendship into our everyday practices, we equip students with the ability to understand, nurture, and maintain healthy relationships. The program also guides students in recognising and expressing their emotions, providing them with practical strategies to develop and strengthen their friendships in a positive and respectful manner.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.
