Creative and Performing Arts at our school

At Castle Cove Public School, we are passionate about nurturing every student’s creativity and love for the arts. Our dedicated staff provide meaningful lessons in creative and performing arts, offering students rich opportunities to develop their skills, explore new ideas, and express themselves with confidence. We believe that fostering creativity is essential to student growth and well-being, and we celebrate the unique talents each child brings to our vibrant arts community.

Our visual arts program, led by our dedicated Head of Creative and Performing Arts, Ms Sarah Smith, offers students a detailed exploration of the principles and elements of art each week. Through engaging activities in painting, drawing, collage, and sculpture, students experiment with colour, texture, form, and composition. Their artwork is proudly displayed at school, allowing them to share their creative journeys and inspire others, while building both technical skills and artistic confidence.

In performing arts, students experience the thrill of music, drama, and dance, developing teamwork, creativity, and stage presence. Over the past two years, we have proudly celebrated their dedication with much-anticipated end-of-year musicals. In 2024, our students brought the magic of The Lion King Jr to life, followed by an outstanding production of Matilda Jr in 2025. These spectacular shows, enthusiastically prepared by students and teachers alike, create unforgettable experiences for our parent and carer community to enjoy and highlight the incredible talent within our school.
